Just a lad from Wolverhampton…

Matthew is an actor/writer/director/producer from the West Midlands who is best known for his leading roles as Joe Spud in the national tour of ‘BILLIONAIRE BOY’, and Peter in the independent feature film, ‘THE BEE-EATERS’.

Born in Wolverhampton, Matthew first nurtured his interest in acting at Central Youth Theatre, taking part in several international tours, including representing the UK at the 2013 Mondial Du Theatre festival in Monaco. After 4 years at Central Youth Theatre, he was offered a place at ALRA (Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) North to begin training as a professional actor- an experience he found exhilarating from start to finish.

Since graduating from ALRA, Matthew has starred in several theatre productions, such as BILLIONAIRE BOY, MACBETH, WAITING FOR WAITING FOR GODOT & THE AGENCY. Alongside his theatre work, he has also starred in the feature films- THE BEE-EATERS and SWEETLY IT TURNS, as well as writing, directing and producing his own full-length feature, LEARN TO LOATHE YOURSELF.

Keen to share his passion with others, Matthew directs theatre productions at Central Youth Theatre as well as continuing to write & produce his own work around professional engagements. Whether it’s on stage, screen, through his pen or from behind the camera, he eagerly looks forward to the next challenge…
